Today’s mission
A bite of this beef pancake, followed by a sip of yogurt,
is really, really delicious.

Gravity started from a simple belief: language learning should follow you into real life and feel effortless enough that your only job is learning, not building lessons, drills, and word lists that rarely match what you actually see in real life.
Our mission is to help more of the world become fluent in the language around them: not just textbook fluency, but the confidence to read the menu, follow the sign, understand the message, and feel at home in a place that once felt unfamiliar.
We're a team of polyglots and lifelong language learners who have lived abroad, moved through different cultures, and watched friends, family, and classmates run into the same wall. We hope Aio will help make that wall feel a little easier to climb.
Meet the teamMost of us have stitched together our own setup: a streak app, a dictionary, a deck, an AI chat. Here is how those stack up against doing it in one place.

Gravity is available on the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android.
Japanese and Mandarin Chinese. You pick one when you set up, and you can add or switch to the other any time from Home or Settings.
C-dramas, music, and real Mandarin from Chinese YouTube creators: everyday vlogs, food and travel, street interviews, and slower videos made for learners. The library is organised by topic and HSK level, and Moments gives you short clips to swipe through.
Simplified. When a word also has a traditional form, its dictionary entry shows that too.
Yes. Tone-marked pinyin sits above every word in the transcript and on your flashcards. Once you don't need it, you can turn it off.
The transcript follows playback word by word. Tap any word to see its pinyin and meaning, hear it spoken, get an explanation of how it's used in that sentence, or save it for Study.
Words you choose to save appear in All words. You can practise them there, search and sort them, or organise them into your own decks. Words saved from Media keep their source context so you can return to the moment where you found them.
That’s Aio, your language friend from space. Aio guides you through setup and appears around Gravity as you learn.
